The Acid and Moisture level of refrigerant gas are measured independently.
Knowing the purity of Refrigerant is vital information for every service
technician. The technician needs to know if the refrigerant can be
(1) immediately reused, (2) needs to be cleaned-up, (3) contaminated beyond reclaiming capabilities, (4) or failed to be properly cleaned during a reclaiming process.

If the gas contains moisture, the Moisture Detector tube will stain along a graduated scale calibrated in parts per million. Detector tubes are calibrated to ARI Standards.
