Knowing the purity of Refrigerant is vital information for every service
technician. The technician needs to know if the refrigerant can be
(1) immediately reused, (2) needs to be cleaned-up, (3) contaminated beyond reclaiming capabilities, (4) or failed to be properly cleaned during a reclaiming process.

If the gas contains acid, the Acid Detector tube will stain along a graduated scale calibrated in parts per million. Detector tubes are calibrated to ARI Standards.
